Pigdog on Kelo v. City of New London
Pigdog Journal agrees with Robert Love and me on KELO et al. v. CITY OF NEW LONDON et al.
Yes, the Court says the city can't just take from A and give to B -- New London has a "Carefully considered development plan" so that makes it legal. So Boss Hogg can't just get local government to seize Uncle Jesse's farm for him—he has to hire some fancy consultants first. That'll make it fair.
"Carefully considered development plan"? What a great idea! Seriously, I've seen enough wind-blown trash piling up in vacant "carefully considered" public/private boondoggles that I would be really scared not to trust the people who live in a place.
