Doc points out that Wired News (not Conde Nast's Wired) has decided always to spell Internet with a small i.

That's a bad idea, because there's a difference between "the Internet" and "an internet".

If you're using IETF standards and IANA IP addresses, congratulations, you're on the capital-I Internet. Other networks-of-networks get the lowercase i.

There needs to be a Wiki for this kind of thing.
