Doc Searls linked to the VRM West Coast Workshop 2009, which is an unconference-style meeting about VRM this Friday and Saturday in Palo Alto. Hope to see you there.
"VRM, or Vendor Relationship Management, is the reciprocal of CRM or Customer Relationship Management. It provides customers with tools for engaging with vendors in ways that work for both parties."
I'm in a lot of companies' Customer Databases, and a lot of that information is wrong. But I have an hCard on my home page. How hard would it be for the CRM system to crawl my home page check the hCard, and let me know, next time I log in, if there's a mismatch between my hCard and the info they have for me?
Even better—and I'd like to see some vendors try this—what if I could post a list of what IT products I'm actually in the market for, I could keep the vendors' databases up to date: Upside-down buyer's guide.
Anyway, there should be a lot to discuss at the event, and my goal is to come back with something simple and implementable that I can feed into Planet OpenSource World as RSS. Post to the ride board if you want to mooch a ride with me from Alameda or nearby.
