"Questions for" tags
Can the relationship between meta-news-mongering topic-focused blogs and real journalism be better than just fact checking?
Technorati tags suggest another way to cooperate: interview questions. Slashdot interviews actually tend to be pretty good, not because of question voting but because you get a bunch of people who have been following the interviewee's career to come up with pretty detailed questions.
So, if you're a blogger and you have a question for someone likely to be interviewed, post an entry with the question, a link to background info, and tag it as "questions for" and the person's name.
If you're a reporter, visit the questions tag page (oops, none for me) before the interview for question ideas.
To really make this work, you'd need to get the Media in the habit of putting up a page of links for more info per story—you could link back to the questioners there.
