[p2p-hackers] Refresh cost in structured networks

Hello all,
I was wondering, is anyone of you aware of any work that tries to measure
the cost of periocally publishing each content in the network, as is
usually done in structured p2p systems? Perhaps even compare this cost to
flooding in unstructured networks?
I have been trying to find something related to this, but haven't come up
with something that looks into that particular issue.
