[p2p-hackers] On the number of users in P2P networks

Hi, I'm looking for a to-date survey on P2P networks. I'd like to know
how many nodes are connected to eDonkey2k, Gnutella, etc.
I've found this one (1) which is quite biased on the amount of traffic
and gives Bittorrent as the winner. I would object that Bittorrent is
not a single network but there is a BT P2P network for any content
published.
About the other networks, I see a dominance of ed2k over gnutella and
fasttrack. Even here I've read the ed2k protocol specs (2) and found
that there is no server-to-server communication so de facto each
server is a sort of old-good-napster network and nodes connected to
different servers cannot be considered part of the same community
(unless these results come from other mechanisms that are not part of
the ed2k protocol like kademlia, or emule extensions that I'm not
aware)
