[p2p-hackers] about p2p simulation

I'm going to collect some trace in Gnutella network and do some p2p simulation based on the trace collected.
However,I have some questions about p2p simulation and trace collecting.

Questions:
1. Which p2p simulation(specially for gnutella) is good and  preferred? (NS2,PLP2P,NeuroGrid,Gnutellasim,etc)
2  Which method collecting p2p trace is effective, monitoring the p2p traffic passively or crawler technique?
 
Does someone provide me some traces of gnutella or kazaa? And I also hope abtain a modified gnutella software
(like gtk-gnutella)can collect gnutella trace.  Thanks a lot.
