In April I was trying to use Turbo Tax and kept getting 'server errors'
when trying to download a software update.  The root cause was my Dlink
home router and Intuit MTU configuration.   My router needed to have the
MTU increased to 1496.  I assume many thousnads of MTU ignorant TurboTax
users were unable to submit their taxes in a timely manner (Intuit did
offer to send a CD).

So ... MTU size does matter. It's better to optimize for
interoperability and not performance.
