Due to the large number of responses received both on-list and off-list from
our last announcement, we're continuing the announcements on this list
(please contact me if that's a problem for you).

Additional documentation is now available on the amicima web site for
interested developers. The header files for our MFP protocol implementation,
MFPMsg message-passing layer and MFPMU event-loop library (all of which will
be part of the initial MFP protocol implementation release) are now
available at:
http://www.amicima.com/developers/documentation.html

In addition, the MFP Protocol document has been upgraded to version 1.1
after comments received here on the list. The version 1.1 protocol now
supports a bilateral keying model in which each side contributes to the
generation of the symmetric session key. It also now supports an optional
Session Sequence Number chunk which may be used to implement stronger
anti-replay measures.

As discussed previously, the protocol itself does not specify a particular
cryptosystem, and the cryptosystem implementation "plugs in" to our MFP
protocol implementation, so HMAC, if desired, may be added at that point.
Additional details about the default cryptosystem provided with the initial
distribution will be available in the distribution documentation.

We are working towards releasing the MFP protocol implementation by the end
of this month, but as with all unfunded software startups, it might take a
little longer, depending on circumstances. We've been working on this for 16
months, after all.

The MFPNet layer will follow shortly thereafter.
