Travis -
This is not authoritative but this might be a start. It does describe
different types of NAT behaviors:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-behave-nat-00.txt
it is from the new IETF "BEHAVE" WG
http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/behave-charter.html
After ignoring NAT's for years, the IETF is now trying to make some
suggestions on how ideal NAT should behave. (I'm sure the pun is intended!)
