I'm happy to report the closed alpha has been going so well, I've
decided to open it up to public participation. Please visit the iGlance
website at for details, or jump straight to the installer with these links:

To give a quick rundown of the current featureset:
- Push-to-talk voice/video (like a video walkie-talkie)
- "Always on" video presence (ie live video, not away messages)
- Per-buddy configurable hotkeys for gaming and from within other apps
- VNC-style screen sharing (experimental)
- File transfer
- Text chat
- NAT and firewall penetration for all features
- Custom skinning engine
In the pipeline:
- High-performance Win32 screen sharing
- Linux, MacOS, Windows Mobile 2003 portability
- Secure group file sharing
- .. what else do you want?
Though performance optimizations haven't begun in earnest, the
underlying technology seems to be shaping up nicely. Thus for now I'm
primarily looking for people to give feedback on the overall usefulness
of the featureset, with an eye for what my priorities should be going
forward.
And finally, this'll all be open source (once I sort out some licensing
issues), so if you're looking for a NAT-piercing, VoIP, streaming-video,
screen-sharing, file-sharing application that you can dig in and call
your own, now's the time to jump on board and let me know where you want
to take it.
So download and sign up, and be sure to join the mailing to keep up on
the latest developments by emailing:

Thanks for all your help on the list, and I invite you to come see what
I've done with it!
