Look at all the web developers using
memcached -- if you have an expensive function
build_cute_graph_from_user_posting_history() that
gets called for every user listing on a directory
page, give the result of that function to memcached
to keep track of.  Least-recently used stuff falls
out of cache.  Like "memoize" but available to more
than one process, and if you lose the cache you just
have to call the actual function more.

If you had swap on a good SSD you might be able to
make use of a larger memcached instance.
