AB 1668, the open standards bill currently working its way through the California legislature, has
cleared its first hurdle. Yesterday, the Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy
voted 4-2 to "Do pass as amended and be re-referred to the Committee on Appropriations." (see
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/07-08/bill/asm/ab_1651-1700/ab_1668_bill_20070417_status.html )

This is good news. And even better news: Mark Leno, the bill's author, is also the chair of the
Appropriations Committee.
