Old news already to the Slashdotters:

First though occuring to me: Don was right.

Caldera/SCO[1] are suing their own customers.

Neither of these suits appears to be based on any copyright or trade
secret provisions, but is Caldera/SCO suing its own customers based on
contract clauses. With or without merit isn't immediately discernable,
but Lindon's track record isn't good here.

And the real lesson should be to give extreme pause before agreeing to
any contract with Caldera/SCO. Or any other proprietary 'ware.

1. "Caldera/SCO" refers to the company which sold GNU/Linux for over ten
years, which confusingly renamed itself to "The SCO Group" _after_
launching legal actions. "The Santa Cruz Operation", original
developers of Xenix, and purchasers of some Unix rights from Novell
(who bought same from AT&T) is a separate organization now known as
Tarantella. Novell itself is now countersuing Caldera/SCO.
