i have heard enough about gnome to last me the rest of 2004.

but its a new year and i test everything that comes out for my customers
so lets give gnome its shot.

im installing it on my whipping box, which is mandrake 9.2
before i even begin i have stated i felt it went two steps forward and 9
steps backwards yet jeff insists that they have found higher ground and
broke everything to fix it correctly and in the end simple beats the
pants of off configurability.

(i want whatever he is smoking, ill say that right now)
~ :o)

Well im gonna put it to the test, and if it sucks dont count on me being
anything less than real about the how and why it sucks. im not gonna
flame ya but im a bastard, ill tell ya the same damn things to your face
as i would say behind your back, i call it like i see it and i dont
mince words.

I have used flux, blackbox, enlightenment, windowmaker, gnome and kde.
for remote systems and slow shit i have used tvwm, cde, fvwm and a few
others.
in short other than a few new ones like rat poison, village and ??
i have pretty much used all of the ones i have ever heard of.

i dont really about how effecient my window manager is, i care more
about how easy it makes it to get to what i need to do my work. i have
good hardware, 933 mhz intel 800 meg or ram and 260 gigs of HD. that
doesnt mean i want something slow either though, but because i keep
upgrading stuff and breaking and fixing and testing. This is my test
environment, hey i did call it my whipping box, now you know why.

urmpi gnome spits back a boatload of possiblities to install,
