I'm a little surprised you're bothering to discuss this. I thought that,
between this, the "Armed and Dangerous" stuff, "All gay men are
pedophiles", "Islam is evil", the McCarthy-like ranting about
communists, socialists and liberals, the essay about how he as a young
man channeled Pan and was a sex god (I'm not joking, it is, or at least
used to be, on his site), his self-claimed alpha geek/lead hacker
status, his stories about how, when he got his first gun, he proved to
be a "natural great shot" or whatever, and the stories about how he got
ignored or made fun of by Bill Gates at some lecture and that made him
really, really hate Microsoft, it'd be pretty clear now (and, actually,
even several years ago), that ESR is a total, grade-a, certified
nutcase, and shouldn't be encouraged to speak for anyone who values
