Karsten and others have pointed out the effectiveness of
copyright infringement as a marketing tool for proprietary
software vendors.  Here's a good example -- a report from the
land where all software costs a dollar.


...virtually no Iraqis know anything about the debate over
open versus proprietary software. Since Iraq never signed
on to the copyright conventions common in other countries,
Iraqis have no sensitivity to the issue.
