They're selling "Patent and Technology" licenses and claim they have
patents covering both of these. There's more info at /mscorp/ip/tech/ on
the Microsoft website.

The FAT patents referred to on the Microsoft site all deal with
file-name mangling, rather than the FAT itself.

Steve Gibson, who TALKS LIKE THIS, has debunked the ClearType claims
previously on his website, http://www.grc.com/cleartype.htm.
