Yes, but it doesn't seem to be more than an annoyance. It seems just as
costly to the annoyer as it is to the annoyed -- there's no
amplification going on. Whether you really want to be a middleman is
up to you of course.
I do think, though, that given the presence of catchall accounts,
back-up MX's that don't verify the recipients and the popular trick
of forging the envelope sender to hotmail/yahoo/aol etc. your non-VRFY
VRFY trick will prevent much. Do you have stats on this?
