My first post - be gentle...

Since I haven't seen it here yet, I assume the news is somewhat fresh -
Blizzard entertainment has used the DMCA as a beating stick to shutdown
bnetd, an open source Battle.net server.

The current suggestion is that since copy-protection is only effected by
refusing forged or duplicated CD keys, this is why Blizzard are annoyed.
It's a very Microsoft ploy - because they can't fight, they don't, and
the person with the most money wins.

That *really* winds me up...
