Saw a cool item in one of the "Infoworld Scoop" subcategories:

* Senate approves limits on dot-com database sales

In the good news, says they are *not* allowed to just change their
privacy policy tune just because they're going bankrupt.

In the bad news, the phrase "after court consideration" comes up, so
in a worst case, I can imagine a company that *doesn't* want to do
this, being ordered by the court to sell the db - or (assuming they
blow a raspberry and destroy the database) face a heavy contempt fine,
maybe even not get granted bankruptcy protection. Sigh.

* Heather * When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more
easily by reducing it to the question, "How would the Lone
            Ranger handle this?"
