Yeah, and the hip thing on freenet-dev is getting Freenet to work on

GCJ roxx, because it compiles your Javur down to native code, and then
runs it at native speeds. I haven't done anything scientific on it,
but with just some simple matrix-multiply crap I got about 2 orders of
magnitude improved speed out of gcj compared to IBM's JDK 1.3,
considered about the fastest JVM on Linux.

So, basically, GCJ opens up and Freenet speeds up significantly (or at
least the executable bottleneck opens up).
