[linux-elitists] pnpdump

Is it ever unsafe to run pnpdump on an i386 system? (Are there systems
where the PnP probe will cause a crash?)

Does

/sbin/pnpdump | grep -A 6 Card

give usefully formatted lists of ISA PnP devices on your system?

I am trying to figure out whether there is a useful default PnP probe
behavior that I could include in my trivial-net-setup script for the
LNX-BBC system.
