Tim Hanson did a fine job of arranging a Linux presence Monday
afternoon at Pier 66, where copies of the Linux Journal & Debian
disks reminded attendees at a meeting by the World Resources
Institute that Third World users need a free & open operating system.

About a dozen local Linuxeers took part, & had a pleasant time in the
drizzle.

Just before 3 o'clock, Mayor Schell & entourage scuttled in through a
side door: as he passed, the mayor gave us a squinch-eyed look as if
to say Omigod it's WTO Jr. But it wasn't; Tim had got it right.
